Travel just 10 minutes away to the Liberty Bridge in DT GLV with the wonderful waterfall views of Falls Park, Swamp Rabbit Trail, shopping, eateries, museums, and concerts. Chill & grill in before roasting marshmallows from the fire pit, satisfying ‘let’s chat -a -while’ followed by relaxing in the hot tub’s peaceful starlight setting.
Notes
SMOKING
The Yellow Cottage is a no-smoking property. Please fully leave the grounds if you need to smoke. You may not smoke anything of any kind anywhere on the premises, inside or outside. You will be charged a significantly fee if you smoke in or on the property.
QUITE HOURS
Please respect the quiet hours of the neighborhood between 10pm to 8am. Our neighbors help make our place safe and homey, please return the favor. Please do not trespass on our neighbors lawns for any reason. In extreme cases of a loud, boisterous party after hours police may be called and guest evicted when not compliant.
THERMOSTATE CONSIDERATIONS
We fully understand that every guest has a different comfort level when it comes to sleeping temperatures, and we allow you to adjust the temperature when you desire. However, we ask that you, PLEASE, DO NOT set the temperature below 68 degrees when cooling and move them back up to 72 during the day. This is to ensure our HVAC system runs smoothly and does nothing freeze over. If the system freezes due to the temperature being set too low for extended periods of time, it will become the guest’s responsibility to pay the repair fee which is around $200 per repair. The ceiling fans have a summer and winter rotation to lift air up or keep heat down. Feel free to switch them off or on as desired.
TRASH
Trash pickup is every Thursday. Cans are located on a cement pad in front of the large tree by the road for pickup for you not to worry. It would be a huge help if you brought your excess trash out to the trash bins, thank you.
EARLY CHECK-IN/LATE CHECK-OUTS
Please observe the designated check-in (4 pm) and check-out(10 am) times. We cannot accommodate early check-ins or late checkouts due to cleanings and scheduling, unless approved by the owner at least 24 hours prior to your arrival or departure date. They are available on a first guest request as scheduling permits. You will be charged a fine for staying past checkout if not communicated.
CHECK-OUT INSTRUCTIONS
A laminated copy of checkout instructions are located on the island for your convenience.
We would appreciate if you please help pick up the home after your stay, however; no check-out instructions are required as it is your vacation . Our first priority as your host is our desire for you to enjoy your time and relax with us. If you do so kindly wish to help at check the following items would be very much appreciated:
1-Start cycle of any dirty dishes in the dishwasher.
2-Place all trash in outside trash bins in front of the tree by the road.
3- For your convenience simple leave sheets and bedding in place just as you step out for the day.
4-Bath and hand towels used may be placed in the bathtub.
5- Place any throws used in the baskets provided on the top of the washer.

FRONT PORCH with Barista table for 2, small granite table tops between chairs and rockers, & country swing,
ENTRY PATIO: table for 2, just before porch steps and 2 steps up from the grill patio
GRILL PATIO: table for 4 plus kids table , with ice chest, food cart, high gas heater with tank inside , Weber grill with gas tank inside. Night lights: dust to dawn flood lights near roof line. Patio night lights may be tuned on by plugging them in on the house wall outlet from front porch near the navy entry door
YARD DINING or RELAXING: Two (2) Adirondack chairs with granite table top in front yard ,
2 bristo tables in the side yard, or large black rectangular picnicking table with chairs.
HOT TUB DECK: 2 High Round Tables for 4 on the new 8′ x 16′ uncovered deck extension of covered hot tub porch, Large 9′ Sturdy Umbrella, 6’X14′ shaded extension of the hot tub deck with two (2) Adirondack chairs and coffee table. all for relaxing, snacking and dining outside.
Outside/yard activities:
HOT TUB- Rain or shine Hot Tubing is ‘just fine’ under its covered side porch with golden privacy curtains. Operating instructions with arrival instructions on the kitchen island and hanging on flower basket at the hot tub.
NOTE: Especially during the hot summer months, the hot tub water evaporates and sometime if low, below the fill line, it will need to have water added from the hose on the backside of the house. You as the guest and user may need to do this. Also, depending on the frequency of use during your stay, water escapes the tub and also requires it to be replaced with the hose. It is maintained after each guest leaves and is serviced weekly in order to keep a balanced ph.
HORSESHOES- look for Horseshoe Crossing…red stakes in horseshoe box, Horseshoes ( if not by the red stakes) check the black case in the front closet)
CORN HOLE – Clemson boards and bean bags for outdoor games on the lawn located in the LR Front closet.
19′ FIRE PIT- located beyond hot tub deck, Six Adirondack chairs plus Adirondack swing for 2-3 guest, plus stumps for side tables beside each chair. Large Stump on backside near swing for hanging fire pit cover when in use or hot. Please keep covered when not in use and after it is cool. (usually in am, pop up rain is expected & common in Greenville due to close proximity to the Blue Ridge Foothills)

Cancellation Policy:
Guests must cancel at least 30 days before check-in to receive a 100% refund for all nights, minus the processing fee/s.
Guests must cancel at least 14days before check-in to receive a 50% refund for all nights.
If a guest cancels less than 14 days before check-in, you’ll be charged 100% for all nights.

Keyless entry: l Lockly Vision Keyless entry allows each guest their own private code activated he day of guest arrival and deactivated at checkout. Phone Host and/or Owner when you arrive if you have not yet received your personal code and a pass code will be texted to your phone.

HOUSE OPERATION
This is a lodging-only property. No parties are allowed in the house except if approved by the owner prior to your arrival.
All appliance manuals are located in the drawer to the left of the oven. Please reference our House Manual in the yellow binder on the granite bar in the kitchen during your stay. It will orient you to the operations of the house and make suggestions of things to do and places to go. The alphabetized table of contents makes it easy for guest to locate detailed sections for their specific question and concern. Do not hesitate to reach out with a call or text at any time.
GROUND MAINTENANCE: We offer biweekly mowing and trimming service on Thursday. Also, snow removal should snowfall be greater than 2 inches. They will not interfere with guest activities or parking.

“FORGOTTEN TREASURES” CHEST: Oops, a few essentials may have been forgotten, check here, we may have you covered!
Antique Miniature Treasure Chest , a Navy Oval box , or a Patriotic rectangular box located on top of the Dryer will be your check point . (the treasure box itself may change from season to season but the contents will remain items you may have forgotten!). After all with 4 sons, treasure hunting was a high priority on the game list! Everyone was a winner because of the fun it created. Enjoy hunting, if you have a forgotten item! Please do not take items you do not need as other guest may need them. It is a curtesy to you, our guest. We replenish it as needed.
COMPLIMENTARY guest items located on top of Washer/Dryer in clear bins
FRONT PORCH CUSHIONS are in the bin behind the porch swing. If you forget to put them away expect fuzzy white reminders of our local traveling kitty who finds them very cozy.
PRIVATE PATIO: COVER CUSHIONS after each use and especially at night, PLEASE ( evening and morning dew, as well as, quick rain storms pop up intermittently when you are away on those new adventures!)
COVERINGS for furniture for Private Patio can be STORED IN THE BIN UNDER THE WINDOW when using the Private Patio.
When you leave the property to return home , PLEASE, PLEASE, put cushions in the large bin behind the lounger and cover all furniture with the coverings provided, including the ice bin by the door and the covering keeper under the window.
NOTE: I usually fold the lemonade table stand and place it in the covering keeper before covering it.

The Yellow Cottage in the Woods is centrally located just 10 min from DT GVL, Travelers Rest ,and local universities (BJU, Furman, & NGU) in a quiet neighborhood just off State Park Road near the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Olive Garden, fast foods, cinemas, and shops of Cherrydale area are within walking distance while the hiking, biking, & water activities for the family are just 8 minutes around the corner with gorgeous falls & landscapes of Paris Mountain State Park.
Designed for our guest to have new adventures every stay in GVL, our cozy Yellow Cottage sleeps six in our 2 bedrooms and den/fireplace room. Our master bedroom features a king bed with a dedicated work desk, a clock light with a phone charging pad, & an extra wardrobe for storage. The second, features a double bed with a rocker/glider, & a wardrobe with extra hanging/storage space. The bonus den’s queen sleeper sofa with a gas fireplace sets the mood for cozying up together watching a movie by a crackling fire. There is also a bamboo privacy screen for this room. Dual plush robes in each bedroom on the door or closet, as well as, extra throws on ladder hangs and a luggage rack are in each room for your comfort and convenience.
Guest will enjoy Smart TV’s in each bedroom, the bonus fireplace room/den and the living room with its comfortable leather forward reclining sofa and chair giving each guest plenty of room to spread out in their own space.
Open to both the fireplace room near the deluxe coffee station to the living room, our fully stocked kitchen holding every imaginable amenity makes the production of delicious family favorites easy, being prepped on the island and counter spaces. Modern leather -backed swivel bar stools at the granite bar joining the living space make room to engage 2 more guest in this space.. Conversations flow easily through these open spaces while some guests are gaming or watching a movie.
Our Deluxe Coffee Station is located in the fireplace room to the right of the entry into the kitchen area. It is situated on an antique wash stand covered with a protective glass. A large Tin serving tray holds the perking coffee maker with timer and clock automatic settings, and a Cuisinart multi-sized single cup coffee maker. Whole beans , filters, and a coffee grinder are provided . A variety of K cups are also provided for the single cup maker as well as a small trash receptacle with a clear plastic liner. individualized creamers, stirring sticks, and a variety of sweeteners, sugar and raw sugar packets, & honey are provided on the shelves above. In addition, a variety of coffee syrups are also located on the shelves above the station. Cups are hanging along the wooden bar of the wash stand. Drawers and cabinet are fully stocked with all the supplies needed for restocking the station as needed.
The full bathroom has an original white cast iron tub, a marble top vanity with crystal sconces around a lighted mirror and a crystal chandelier. It is equipped with towels, extra hand towels, facial clothes for the ladies, a hair dryer and hand mirror, plus extra shelf space for your toiletry items. Additional hair dryers, mirrors , and a hair towel wrap for guests in the blue room and fireplace room are located in the small drawers of the oak wardrobe as well as an electric lighted mirror on top of the dresser.
A ‘Forgotten Treasures’ Chest ‘ filled with small items you may have forgotten is located on top of the dryer in the foyer. Complementary shampoo/conditioner, laundry and kitchen soaps are in a clear caddy on top of the washer/dryer just outside the bathroom in the foyer. Check it out, take and use any item you forgot and need. Please leave others that you do not use nor need for other guest. The specific type of ‘chest or box’ may change with the season/s but the placement and items within are always found in the same place available to meet needs for our guest/s.
All the bedding and linens for the queen sleeper sofa, and extra Hot Tub towels are located in the antique oak wardrobe in the foyer.
The house is temperature and humidity controlled throughout the year with central heating and A/C and ceiling fans in the fireplace room, living room and each bedroom.
Wall hangings depict places of local interest in and around the Greenville area as well as represent the work of local artist, many of whom you may find in DT GLV on street corners or in quaint art shops throughout the city. Many of these places of business are listed with photos inside the Guests Welcome Book and are highly recommended to you. Signs located throughout the home and on the grounds are for your information and guidelines and safety.
Our outdoor amenities with various types of porches, swings, and seating for folks to gather and chat are a uniques feature of our cozy, country vibe at the Yellow Cottage. Our 19′ fire pit, 6 Adirondack chairs, stump tables, and large 3 seater swing loved by all our guest/s, is a perfect place for marshmallow roasting, s’mores, and making memories. Firewood and kindling for fire building are available along the cinderblock wall behind the house.
We invite you to walk about our spacious 1 acre property surrounded with many mature trees, flowering plants, and shrubs welcoming you with a cozy, country vibe in a residential neighborhood. All of the indoor and outdoor amenities were designed for your relaxation on site intended to inspire robust conversations and simple fun times guaranteed to help each of you, our guests, make memories with family and friends during your stay with while exploring all Greenville and the foothills have to offer. The Yellow Cottages is well lit after dark with solar lighting, dust to dawn lighting, motion sensor lighting and night lights. Please be sure you read the section on our RAIN or SHINE HOT TUB is FINE ALL the TIME!. You will also have recommendations to our favorite Coffee shops, & hiking in various parks nearby. There is a section, as well, for day trips to Hendersonville, Tryon’s International Equestrian Center, and Asheville for shopping or visiting the Amazing Biltmore Mansion. The Welcome Book is organized alphabetically with a Content page to facilitate your ability to find what you need/or are interested in, both easily & quickly.
